It's been less than a year since Wild Cub made their debut at Bonnaroo and were named one of The Wall Street Journal's "CMJ Bands to Watch". Formed in early 2012 by songwriter-composer Keegan DeWitt and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Bullock, Wild Cub's debut LP "Youth" was released this August in the United States and showcases the duo's dexterity in transitioning between infectious electro-pop, tropical rhythms, and quiet washes of cinematic reflection.
PASTE calls Youth, "full of small complexities that fill songs as they unwittingly slide into each other", while The Guardian pinned it as "undeniably captivating". Line Of Best Fit claimed, "Youth relentlessly offers up huge pop songs delivered with sheer gusto & intelligence". Attention has continued with music video premieres on noted sites such as Spin, MTVHive, PASTE, Rcrdlbl, The Guardian, Black Book, Refinery29 and more. While remixes of Jessie Ware's "Running" & Atlas Genius' "Symptoms" brought increased awareness, it was a coveted spot on the Daytrotter Barnstormer tour (w/ White Rabbits, Guards, Princeton), supporting dates with Sondre Lerche and an electrifying live show that has established Wild Cub as a force.
Freshly into 2013, the band has seen the release of Youth in the UK, with notable press attention from Clash, The Guardian ("disarmingly sweet tropical pop"), Line of Best Fit and Top Shop ("sweet, tropically-tinged, dance-y pop"). Not ones to rest for long, Wild Cub has a busy year to come with appearances at Fashion Week (NYC), SXSW Hangout Fest, UK dates and more.
